Feldenkrais Method

In an ‘Awareness Through Movement’ lesson you’ll do gentle, pleasurable, particular movements that make the functional movements of daily life, such as walking efficiently, safely lifting objects, and improving posture in sitting or standing, more easeful. This method harnesses our neuroplasticity to improve how we move through the world.

Some lessons are challenging, others relaxing. Everyone is welcome: those with injuries or other limitations will learn the remarkable powers of imagined movement.

Kirsteen, a longtime yoga teacher, completed an intensive

two-year training program in Vermont, and was certified to teach 'Awareness Through Movement' in summer 2023. The training was led by Elizabeth Beringer, director of the Feldenkrais Institute of San Diego, who studied directly with founder Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, and teaches internationally.

 

Kirsteen's yoga classes are fantastic!  She is my yoga instructor of choice.  Her voice is so calming that you can't help but relax and settle into your practice.  I have practiced with Kirsteen for many years now and no matter what type of yoga, the classes are wonderful.  I am currently taking online Yin classes and they are just what I need during this time of pandemic isolation.
